About SPRE
Strategy Policy and Research in Education Ltd (SPRE) is an Australian owned company operating in Hong Kong. The company is a member of an international network of independent consultants in higher education policy and management.

SPRE carries out research, strategy and policy studies in the field of education, specifically in international and transnational education. It provides consulting services and advice to universities and other education institutions internationally.
 
Alan Olsen, an Australian living and working in Hong Kong, is Director of Strategy Policy and Research in Education Limited www.spre.com.hk. Alan is a consultant in international education, carrying out research, strategy and policy advice for client institutions and organisations on international education, transnational education and international student programs. He has worked in international education in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong and has published extensively, with 40 items on Australia's Database of Research on International Education http://www.idp.com/research/database_of_research.aspx. He has Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Philosophy from The University of Sydney and Graduate Diploma in Finance from University of Technology, Sydney.

In October 2009 Alan was recognised by his colleagues with an International Education Excellence Award from the International Education Association of Australia for his distinguished contribution to the field of international education. The award, presented for the first time in 2009, is intended to recognise the ongoing outstanding contribution of a professional colleague in international education who has led ground breaking initiatives that improved international education in Australia.
